Advice To A Younger Me…
1. Be like a sponge and absorb recruiting ideas from everywhere. Then, see what works well for you and your district. 2. If you showcase the older students, they beginners will want to be like them and join the program, too. 3. If you teach the second year of band (and not the beginners), get your face in front of the beginners as often as possible. Go to their concerts and events. It makes a big difference in retention if they already know you and can hear about what comes next.
